Final Blog Post

I was excited to take Bio 11 this semester because I really wanted to learn more about plants and animals. I found out that my favourite topic was the chordates. I liked learning about the Chordates because I found starfish, jellyfish and lampreys interesting. It was great being able to dissect different things but I found the smells horrific :O One of the highlights of our class was our trip to the aquarium. It is one of my favourite places to visit but I loved that we got to learn more and see behind the scenes and dissect the fish. One thing I would change about what I did in Bio 11 would be to study more for tests as I find difficult if I don't have a cheat sheet prepared. All in all I really enjoyed the class but I wish I didn't have to miss so many classes because of my health.

Arthropod Butterflies

The arthropod I picked which fasinated me was Butterfly.  Butterflies belong to the class Arthropoda and the class Insecta. I love butterflies because they are so different and unique to one another by their colour, shape and size they are just so beautiful. I love how they can disguise themselves to their predator like this one butterfly that can change its wings into the owls eyes gotta say its survival of the fittest.

Aquarium field trip

The aquarium field trip was extremely fun and I enjoyed every minute. I wish we could have stayed even longer :) My favourite animal I picked was the frog b/c I love amphibians especially cute little froggies. The frogs phylum is the Chordata which means it has a backbone, notochord and a post anal tail. Why the frogs are so interesting is because they have big eyes that bulge out of their head and can see in almost every direction and have amazing hearing which makes them pretty good at escaping. I also like how frogs have such powerful legs and can jump 20 times their own body length in a single leap, I mean come on that's awesome I can barley jump off the ground. The last thing I like about frogs is that they are all different in shapes, size and colour so u won't find the exact same frog which makes them all unique and different.
